Where to Stay in London London is a sprawling city, to put it lightly. As a taxi driver told us, one could easily spend two hours driving across the city, whether North to South or West to East—and that’s not even at rush hour!
Over the last couple of years, I’ve shifted my gift-giving strategy from one of quantity to one of quality. I used to give lots of gifts of varying degrees of craftsmanship for the sake of pure volume.
Outfit Details: Rebecca Taylor vegan leather skirt (rent here, buy here or here), Philosophy tunic with added bow (similar here and here), Rothy’s flats c/o, AUrate New York earrings c/o, Tory Burch purse (rent here, buy here) Early on Saturday morning, before the sun had even begun to filter through the drapes, Rolan and I nudged each other into the waking world.
I know I’m a little late on resolutions here, but we do still have 49 weeks of 2018 to go. I love writing lists of goals and to-dos at any time of year, but New Year’s lists are a special treat.
Palmetto Bluff is a very special place. Time is suspended there. My mother and I had our hearts set on relaxing in low country nature during our road trip, so we made a reservation at Montage Palmetto Bluff. This award-winning resort only 30 minutes from Savannah is located on 20,000 acres of land, much of which is nature preserve. Bird sanctuaries, tidal marshes, forested bike paths, and the beautiful May River stretch across the landscape. Its beauty rivals that of some national parks.
Our first stop on our tour was Savannah, Georgia, a city which utterly enchanted us. The live oaks dripping with Spanish moss, the gently hued historic architecture, and the dramatic passing thunderstorms gave the city a painterly, other-worldly quality. Moreover, the people were the friendliest we've met anywhere, always ready with a smile, and occasionally a ghost story.
I love finding local spots that make me feel as if I am in distant locales, whether flower fields, historic mansions, or seaside cliffs. Aquitaine Boston, located on the South End's "restaurant row," is one such gem.
Many wonderful trips are devoted to gourmet food, striking architecture, beautiful interiors, and charming cafés. This was not one of those trips. This was a trip of big mountains, big sky, grab-and-go barbecue, and highway motels.
