DIY Photo Booth

With New Year’s Eve coming up, I thought I’d share some short and sweet party inspiration. For my recent birthday party, which had a champagne theme, we made a photo booth. It was splendid fun and cost less than $50, from backdrop to props.

To make our backdrop, we picked up a 6′ by 8′ faux grass rug at Home Depot for under $20. We poked four holes through the top with scissors, and then we hung it from four large Command hooks, making for easy removal when the party was through. I love the grassy background because it calls to mind the backdrops of the red carpet or the Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic.

For props, we bought a feather boa, extra-large glasses, and this excellent props set available on Amazon. We finished off the booth with an extra large champagne balloon!

In total, the booth took less than half an hour to put together once we’d gotten the supplies. It was a big hit at the party and made for some great memories.
