With Valentine’s Day just around the corner, I’m sharing my ultimate guide to romantic gifts. Here you’ll find thoughtful presents selected to bring joy, excitement, elegance, learning, and relaxation to your loved one. Many can be bought on Amazon Prime or are digital gifts, meaning you’ll be all set even at the last minute!
When you focus on your partner’s favorite hobbies, it becomes easy to brainstorm gifts they would find useful and fun. Click through the carousel below for my favorite picks for the traveler, the foodie, the book lover, and the fitness fan.
Subscription-based gifts are a favorite of mine because they’re thoughtful, they keep on giving, and they can be bought literally five minutes before present time.
• Support them in learning something new with Lynda.
• Cook together with any one of these meal-kit delivery services.
• Give them monthly romantic gifts with a box subscription. Options include Try the World international gourmet goodies, Birchbox beauty and personal care products, Cravory cookies, and POPSUGAR Must Have lifestyle products.
There are so many new devices coming out all the time, and some will surely suit your partner’s fancy. Recently, Rolan and I have been enjoying this portable speaker and our new Echo Dot (under $50)—it’s so fun to tell an AI assistant to turn the lights on, read the news, or play jazz music!
For the kid at heart, a drone with HD camera is sure to be a hit. For someone whose phone always seems to be dying, a power bank and tassel with hidden cables will make sure they can always text you back. For someone who tends to misplace their things, a Tile keychain will make life a lot easier.
Books are a lovely and often overlooked way to tailor to your partner’s tastes and interests. I’ve linked up some coffee table books and cookbooks below that are captivating, beautiful, and don’t oblige the recipient to read from cover to cover. I’ve also included a line-a-day, 5-year journal, which is an easy and poetic way to preserve your memories together.
What’s wonderful about edible gifts is that they are appropriate for every level of relationship intimacy. If you live in the Boston area, buy chocolates from Phillips Chocolate House or an assortment of pastries from Tatte Bakery. If you have a David’s Tea near you, pick up one of their Valentine’s assortments or a tin of Read My Lips tea.
Giving clothes can be a little tricky. To play it safe, I like to focus on classic accessories and loungewear, two things which are more likely to fit your partner’s body and style than other attire. I’m especially fond of this Hunter umbrella, this watch case, and these leather slippers.
Rolan and I love giving each other experiential romantic gifts, such as our anniversary helicopter ride over NYC. For planning activity- and travel-based gifts, I love browsing through sites such as Groupon, Jetsetter, and Secret Flying. For tips on finding airfare deals, check out this older post.
